The idea of in-game advertising in a fantasy RPG setting was a rather far-fetched idea in the first place. What we can be sure, however, is that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is set to be released this May 20 (barring delays) and will come with all the unique features that Ellingsen previously mentioned in his recent interview. |

Age of Conan officially goes live this March 25 and players can expect the open beta of the game to be available some time before that. |

Okay, let's take stock of what we have so far. Ole Herbjørnsen: cool name, cool job. What else do we know about this guy? Well, if your answer is along the lines of "not a whole lot," then you'll appreciate this peek into the life of the man behind Age of Conan. |

Haugen began by doing lots of research early on, reading the original stories by Howard and listening to a great deal of related film music to help develop a style for the game. He also looked into what is currently known about ancient music, which apparently is fairly little. The musical notation that's used today didn't exist in ancient times, so much of the theorizing on what ancient music would have sounded like is based on instruments that have survived from that time. |
